What is the Budget for a 1 Week Trip to Paris? (From €720 to €3400+ per Person)

Are you planning on spending a week in Paris but don’t know exactly how much it will cost? Of course, it depends on the limit you set. To help you, we are showing you different types of budgets for every part of your trip.

How much does accommodation cost in Paris?

Finding a hotel in Paris is not difficult because there are plenty. On the other hand, it is more complicated to find one which fits your budget and your expectations.

To stay in a 5-star hotel, it will cost between 150 and 800+ euros a night. These hotels are prestigious, beautiful, and will give your trip a taste of luxury. 3 and 4-star hotels are lovely as well and usually have lower prices (between 70 and €200 a night). Most of the time, all these are well located inside the city.

For a reasonable price (€50+ a night), you can afford a quality hotel room. For instance, in a beautiful charming hotel. You will have comfort without spending a fortune.

And if you want to save money, there are simple and cheap hotels in Paris which have rooms for approximately €30+ a night.

How much does it cost to eat out in Paris?



If eating breakfast at your hotel is not possible, you can buy what you need in a bakery or a café.

Tt will usually cost you between 3 and €8 per day and you will be able to eat it in the café.

You will have to pay between 10 and €20 in average at the hotel if it’s not included.


Prices vary depending on what you choose. If you decide to take your lunch in a fancy restaurant, its price can be over €35. But you will taste excellent French cuisine.

Tip: Avoid very touristic areas for lunch or dinner because you could find a restaurant with an expensive menu but average quality food.
You can find nice restaurants with a good quality menu for between 15 and €35.

A menu usually consists of a starter, a main course, and a dessert, but it might be different for some restaurants.

Prices of dinner menus can be slightly more expensive than the lunch ones.

If you want to eat quickly so you can enjoy your day fully, you will be able to find something to eat in a bakery or small bistros (away from touristic areas) for less than €15.

And if you crave a snack in the afternoon, you can always buy a pastry in a bakery or take a break at the terrace of a café. It shouldn’t cost you more than €8.


How much do activities cost in Paris?


After you have found where to stay and eat, the next thing you will want to do is visit the City of Lights. In order to do so, make sure to prepare money for it in your budget.

Walking on the Champs-Élysées, strolling in a park, seeing the Eiffel Tower or the Arc de Triomphe are easy and free activities. However, on average, climbing up those monuments will only cost you €10 per person and you will enjoy some spectacular views.

The Cathedral of Notre-Dame of Paris and the basilica du Sacré-Cœur, which are also free, are stunning monuments that you have to see if you have enough time.

You will have to pay €15 per person on average to visit a museum. The main museums to visit are: The Louvre, the Musée d’Orsay, and the Musée du Quai Branly. The National Museum of Natural History and all it gathers might be an activity you will enjoy.

To do something else, the Cité des Sciences also put on great exhibitions. A ticket only costs €12.

If you like museums and think you might visit a lot of them, you could always buy the Paris Pass which includes entrances to most of the museums in Paris as well as unlimited access to public transport.

And if you want to get out of Paris for a day, you can go and visit the Palace of Versailles or spend a day at Disneyland Paris.

How much does transportation cost in Paris?

To be able to go where you want during your trip, you will also have to think about money for transport. The T+ tickets allow you to travel on every metro line, all RER lines in Paris (zone 1), and all bus lines in Ile-de-France.

A ticket is valid for one use only. The fare for 1 ticket is €1.90 (a pack of 10 tickets = €14.50).

You may also buy the Paris Visite Pass: you can travel as many times as you want on any form of public transport for 1, 2, 3, or 5 days in a row. For an adult, a Paris Visite Pass for 5 days cost €37.25 for zones 1 to 3, and €63.90 for zones 1 to 5.

You can also choose to take a taxi. Prices vary between 15 and €50 (depending on the length and time of the ride).

Paris also has a self-service bike system (Vélib’) to move around in the city. The ticket for a day costs €1.70 (the first 30 minutes are free of charge, for every additional 30 minutes, a charge will be added to the price of the ticket).
