14 & 15 Aug — Assumption Day Processions
Notre-Dame Cathedral & the Seine riverbanks
On the 14th, an evening Mass is planned in the cathedral, followed by a torch-lit walk and a short boat procession on the Seine.
On the 15th, daytime services continue and a Marian parade walks along the river.
(Exact route is run by the Paris diocese; in recent years it has started at Saint-Laurent Church and finished on the Notre-Dame square, so check the timetable a few days before.)
15 Aug — Fire Night Fountains Show, Versailles

Thousands of candles, flame-throwing artists, baroque music in the groves, and a giant drone-and-fireworks finale above the Grand Canal.
Gates open 8:30 p.m.; show ends around 11 p.m.
20 – 24 Aug — Rock en Seine

Five huge days of indie rock, pop, and hip-hop.
2025 headliners include Justice, A$AP Rocky, London Grammar, and Queens of the Stone Age.
Under-15s must come with an adult.
28 Aug – 7 Sep — Jazz à la Villette (opening nights in August)
Grande Halle & Philharmonie, Parc de la Villette
Eleven nights mixing modern jazz, hip-hop, soul, and Afrofunk. Free afternoon “Under the Radar” gigs for kids run on the first weekend.
29 Aug – 6 Sep — Silhouette Short-Film Festival
Parc de la Butte du Chapeau Rouge (19th)
At sunset, live concerts kick off each evening, followed by alfresco screenings of international short movies.
All shows are free.

Seine riverbanks & Bassin de la Villette
Real sand, deck chairs, water-misting arches, and free sports areas turn the quays into pop-up beaches.
Fête des Tuileries Funfair — until 24 Aug
Tuileries Garden (1st arrondissement)
More than 60 rides and cotton-candy stands. Entry is free; rides cost about €3–€6 each.
L’Été du Canal — until 10 Aug
Canal de l’Ourcq & Canal Saint-Denis
Cheap weekend boat shuttles, floating dance floors, street-art cruises, and giant water slides along the canals.
Open-Air Cinema, Parc de la Villette — until 17 Aug
Free nighttime movies on a giant outdoor screen from Wed → Sun.
Bring a blanket or rent a deck chair.
Classique au Vert (weekends) — 28 Jun – 6 Sep
Parc Floral de Paris, Vincennes
Saturday & Sunday afternoon classical concerts in a flower garden.
Entry to the park is €2.60 for adults, free for kids under 7.
