11 Cheap Hostels in Paris With Hotel Quality Standards

Whether you are just in Paris for a couple of days or you want to stay for a little while longer, hostels are a good solution – because while not everyone has the same budget, we all have the same things that we’re looking for! We have therefore selected 13 quiet, clean and above all cheap hostels in Paris. Between dormitories and rooms you will have the choice, and always at affordable prices.

But first of all, there are a few things to keep in mind about Parisian hostels: obviously, to offer you more affordable prices to stay in the heart of the capital, they must make concessions.

As a result, some services are not provided in the same way as in a hotel. Also, in the middle of Paris, space is scarce and your room will necessarily be smaller than in a hotel.

Having said that, some cheap hotels in Paris aren’t quite as well maintained as some of the hostels on this list.

But anyway, with the city stretching out at your feet, it would be a shame to lock yourself in there!

Arty Paris Porte de Versailles by Hiphophostels

arty hotel auberge

Types of beds:
Dormitories: 4 to 6 people. Mixed or not.
Rooms: Family (4), double or single (with private bathroom or not)

Prices
Dormitories: €39 per night
Rooms: €80-115 per night depending on the room.
+Optional breakfast (€7)

Spending a night, or several nights, in a hostel means having to deal with promiscuity. But as far as the Arty is concerned, most of its rooms and dormitories have private bathrooms. It is a good compromise for those who do not like to wait and still seek privacy in a cheaper stay.
And even if their sizes are reduced, they offer additional comfort. Although breakfast (€7) is not included in the room price, it is still convenient. Otherwise, as in most hostels, you can bring your own food to satisfy your desires (especially with the grocery stores 100 meters away and the common kitchen in the hostel).

This hostel is ideal for travelers attending exhibitions, given the proximity to the Parc des Expositions de Versailles. Finally, its common lounge is ideal for exchanges around the foosball table or in its leather armchairs.

Pros: The common room is spacious and very open. And the hostel’s shuttle service makes it very easy to get to and from the airport.
Cons: private bathrooms for most of the bedrooms, so relatively small.

Address: 62 Rue Des Morillons, 75015 Paris, France

Perfect Hotel & Hostel

perfect hotel auberge

Dormitories: 4 people. Mixed or not.
Rooms: Double or triples

Prices:
Dormitories: €41 per night
Rooms: €80-111 per night, depending on the room.
+Continental breakfast (7 €).

To be “Perfect” this hostel/hotel has everything to please in terms of location. 5 minutes walk from the Anvers metro station, 15 minutes from the Moulin-Rouge, 800 meters from Sacré Coeur and very close to the Opéra Garnier, it is ideal for tourists, those who want to be amazed. The district is very tourist-oriented and accessible.

In addition, Perfect Hotel & Hostel has a shuttle system for the airport and a free luggage service.

A minor disadvantage is a lack of diversity in breakfast, which remains classic: chocolate bread, croissant, coffee, tea, orange juice. But as it is included, there’s nothing to complain about. Microwaves, kettles and wifi are at your disposal. And if you can’t find what you’re looking for, there’s nothing to stop you from buying food at the (nearby) grocery store. Or simply for breakfast, lunch or dinner, you can visit one of the restaurants/cafés on the same street.

Pros: the proximity of tourist places, to see as much of Paris as possible in a short time.
Cons: the classic French breakfast which may lack choice for foreign tourists.

village Montmartre auberge

Types of beds:
Dormitories: 4 to 8 people. Mixed or not.
Rooms: double.

Price:
Dormitories: €45 per night
Rooms: €165 per night
+Breakfast included.

Without hesitation, the main asset of the Village Montmartre is its magnificent terrace with a view of the Sacré Coeur. Open, spacious, sunny, ideal for meetings, in short, it is the best hostel you could find!

The interior is modern and also spacious. And that’s a good point when you know that there are quite large dormitories (8 people). It’s very simple: we get some air and we don’t step on each other. As for the catering, taste French cheeses, enjoy the bar, and a fully equipped kitchen to really cook as if you were at home – especially with the grocery store just across the street and the bakery only a few meters away.

Each accommodation has its own private bathroom and air conditioning.

As for the location: the Montmartre district is just next door and Sacré-Coeur is only 10 minutes walk away.

Pros: the exceptional location and the nearby metro.
Cons: it can happen that the street is a little noisy on weekends, so we suggest that you stay during the week.

Price:
Dormitories: €30 per night
Room: €60-100 per night, depending on the room.

With a refined, comfortable and clean decor, Caulaincourt Montmartre plays it safe. And its location is not bad either: for a very reasonable price you’ll find yourself very close to Sacré-Coeur (600 meters) in the 18th arrondissement district. Three minutes walk from Lamarck-Caulaincourt metro station, if you arrive by train from Gare du Nord or Gare de l’Est, you will reach the hostel in 15 to 20 minutes. Finally, if you want to go for a walk in the city, Les Champs-Élysées is 3km away and the Opéra Garnier is only 2km away.

Regarding the hostel: free wifi and breakfast are included. On the other hand, the hotel has stairs and no elevator, so plan to have light luggage.

Rooms: single or double

Prices:
Dormitories: €25/30 per night, depending on the dormitories.
Rooms: €80-100 per night, depending on the rooms.
+Optional breakfast (€4.5).

Cheap, clean, with a very nice atmosphere and 10 minutes by metro from downtown Paris – a recipe that works, since the hostel has been welcoming travelers since 2012. It has been nicely renovated in a neat and modern style. It is located two minutes from Belleville station (metro 2 and 11). While its furnished terrace is a great asset, the small balconies of some rooms and dormitories will also delight you. Rooms and dormitories all have private rooms, which is quite exceptional for a hostel. Another rather practical detail: small lockers to leave your important items are available.

Breakfast is a little basic, but enough for the price, and there is always the possibility of eating outside, especially if you are a late riser because the kitchen closes early.

Pros: shuttles to the airport and the small, friendly courtyard.
Cons: no elevator and a bit of a lack of electrical outlets in the dormitories (a small extension may be useful).

Address: 70 Rue Julien Lacroix, 75020 Paris, France

Absolute Hotel Paris République

absolute hotel auberge

Types of beds:
Dormitories: 3 people. Mixed or not. With shower.
Rooms: double or family (4). With or without a bathroom.

Price:
Dormitories: €38 per night
Rooms: €110-150 per night
+Optional breakfast (€10).

Don’t let the name fool you, this is a hostel; and its main advantage is its offbeat decor – an ode to pop culture and diversity. It is colorful with its graphs full of character. Art lovers? This accommodation is made for you! In addition, the “dormitories” are quite small in number and you will also find rooms, some of which have a bathroom.

Although there is no kitchen, don’t worry – the street is very lively and you will easily find something to eat. However, breakfast can be taken in addition to the price of the night for those who wish it; it is sometimes even included.

Once again, art lovers will not be disappointed as the hostel is located next to the George Pompidou Centre (1.5km) and next to the Opéra Bastille (2km). This proximity will give you access to other districts: Châtelet, Le Marais and Bastille.

Pros: the unparalleled decor and the hostel’s partnership with the nearby Appollo theatre.
Cons: lockers at the reception desk and not in the rooms.

Address: 1 rue de la fontaine au roi, 75011 Paris, France
Availabilities & Booking: Booking.com

Le Regent Montmartre

Regent Montmartre Auberge

Types of beds:
Dormitories: from 4 to 6 beds.
Rooms: Double, triple or family (4).

Prices:
Dormitories: around €35 per night
Rooms: €145 (private bathroom with bathtub); then around €205 for family rooms.
+Optional breakfast (€9).

Considering the price of double or triple rooms, one could not expect private bathrooms, and even less with a bathtub! Although the spaces are sometimes limited, the rooms, well lit, are nevertheless pleasant.

And then, we quickly forget the size of the room when we are located at the foot of the Sacred Heart! So much so, that some rooms in this hostel have a direct view of it. If breakfast seems a little expensive to you, it is at least varied. It is also optional, so nothing prevents you from having breakfast out on the terrace in the streets of the Montmartre district. You are also free to use the common kitchen.

In terms of location, the Anvers metro station is located just in front of the hotel.

Pros: the elevator (although a little small), and of course the unique location.
Cons: the narrowness of some rooms.

Address: 37 Boulevard Rochechouart, 75009 Paris, France
