The 3 Most Luxurious and Beautiful Palaces in Nice Compared

Are you are looking for a palace in Nice to call your home for a few days, but you can’t make up your mind? Spas, jacuzzis, private beaches, restaurants, the view from the room… There are many important factors to take into account when you are looking for a hotel. To help you decide, here is a detailed comparison of the three most luxurious and beautiful palaces in Nice.

Here are the hotels on the map:

My suggestions in short:

The Negresco

Address: 37 Promenade des Anglais, 06000 Nice France

the Negresco

4.6/5 : France Hotel Guide’s expert rating

Built in 1913, the Negresco is full of culture and history. It is situated by the sea on the famous Promenade des Anglais.

Sometimes described as a museum-hotel, the Negresco is the perfect place to be enchanted by countless masterpieces.

There is a beautiful blend of old and modern art at the Negresco, including paintings from the 17th century, statues, tapestries, and sculptures.

One of the three official portraits of King Louis XIV is housed and displayed in the hotel. In the Royal Lounge, you will also find the “Nana Jaune”, a sculpture by Niki de Saint Phalle. The Negresco is truly a place of art!

Original rooms and suites

Of course, you also go to the Negresco to sleep. You will not be disappointed by the decor in the rooms and suites, however, as each one has its own style.

Whether decorated with period furniture, artistic furniture, or simple pieces, you will find the essence of the hotel in every room.

Room Negresco

For €600, you can sleep in a room with a double bed and a view of the city or the garden.

If you want a view of the sea, it will cost you about €800. At this price you could have, for example, the Rivoli Room, one of the most recent and colorful rooms in the hotel.

Most of the suites have at least one balcony, and the most expensive ones have a terrace. The Deluxe Suite, for example, has a view of the sea and costs around €4,500 per night.

The hotel also offers exclusive and unique suites such as the Marie-Antoinette Suite and the La Parisienne Suite.

These suites are very spacious, and each is decorated according to a particular theme. Most importantly, no two suites have the same theme.

Negresco Deluxe Suite
Deluxe Suite with a terrace and a view of the sea

If you are traveling with your family, the hotel offers several family rooms and suites. The rooms have sofa beds, and the suites have a second room with a double bed.

Your children will be pampered at the Negresco. Coloring books, small gifts, children’s menus, pedal cars, and much more is waiting for them.

Children between the ages of four and ten can take part in art workshops for €45 per child. Each workshop includes a small snack.

The hotel also offers a babysitting service for an additional cost.

Family spirit at the private beach

The hotel offers access to a gym and the Neptune private beach (located in front of the hotel) where you can try several different water sports.

If you book your hotel room with a beach supplement, you will have free access to the beach; if not, you’ll need to spend €15 per person for a half day and €22 for a full day.

Be careful, this is a pebble beach!

You can rent beach chairs, umbrellas, and towels on site for €15 to €22. With all of these amenities, you’ll be able to bask in the sun in comfort.

A Michelin-starred restaurant and a brasserie

The Negresco has two restaurants run by head chef Virginie Basselot: Le Chantecler and La Rotonde. Banquets and room service are also overseen by the chef.

At Le Chantecler, a Michelin-starred restaurant, you can enjoy cuisine that combines tradition and modernity either indoors or on the large terrace.

If you like surprises, treat yourself to “Les secrets de Virginie” for €220 per person. This eight-course meal is so exclusive that only the chef knows the secret to preparing it!

La Rotonde Negresco
La Rotonde

If you prefer a more casual atmosphere, La Rotonde offers brasserie-style cuisine in a chic and relaxed lounge decorated in white and gold.

If you want to spend a quiet moment over a drink, the bartender will give you a warm welcome at the Negresco’s bar, which is decorated with walnut woodwork and period furniture.

In the evening, the bar comes alive with music to make your evening unforgettable.

Price: From €600/night

❤️ We like: The rooms inspired by different eras of French art.

❤️ We love: The museum-hotel aspect and the omnipresent artistic atmosphere.
