Belfort is chiefly known for its majestic lion by Auguste Bartholdi, but in fact, there are 250 others scattered in the city. Every year, Belfort organises the Eurockennes, a large open-air rock music festival where the greatest names in that area come and play. Belfort is a city of art and its streets boast statues, fountains, frescoes, parks and splendid gardens. From the walk along the Vauban fortifications, you can see a fantastic view of the fixed bridge and half moon.
