Limoges is known throughout the world for its porcelain. The city is called Capital of the Arts of Fire for its porcelain industry and also for its enamel workers and stained glass makers. The Bishopric Museum has a splendid collection of Limoges enamel. At the heart of Limoges is the Crypt of Saint Martial, the only remaining relic of the older Abbey. In the Cour du Temple and the la rue de la Boucherie, admire the half-timbered houses. The Jardin d'Orsay contains remains of Roman arenas. At the north of the city is the famous gare des Benedictins, work of the architect Roger Gonthier.
