From February 2 onwards, red lanterns and banners sporting new year greetings will be decorating the streets of Paris 13th district to mark the Chinese New Year. Colourful dragons will be dancing at the “dalle des Olympiades” while the splutter of firecrackers leave us in no doubt that the Year of the Rat has arrived. Visitors can enjoy a wealth of festivities and attractions to mark the occasion including plays, the dance of the dragon, the Chinese shadow theatre, cookery classes and to round it all off the traditional Dragon Parade held on Sunday, February 10, setting off from Place Saint-Sulpice. >> Visit our hotels in Paris
Paris Carnival Paris Carnival
On Candlemas Eve on Sunday February 3, after tucking into the traditional pancakes, take the time to explore the streets of the capital where the celebrations will be in full swing with the Paris Carnival. Discover 500 years of tradition by following this musical, costumed procession led by Pimprenelle the Cow and Pat the Clown. This year, the theme of the procession is “The Urban Jungle”, offering a lively symbol of life in Paris. Follow the carnival-goers during the Promenade du "BƓuf Gras" (Fat Cow Parade) and allow yourself to be swept along through the streets of Paris in this happy and festive party atmosphere. >> Visit our hotels in Paris

From February 15 to 17, Paris will be hosting the Salon de la Bibliophilie (Book Collectors’ Fair). This will be held in one of the capital’s most prestigious settings, the Carrousel du Louvre. This high quality show, which has gained massively in popularity over the years, provides an opportunity for collectors and lovers of exceptional and unusual books to do the rounds of the stalls and to discover these rare and precious works.

Nice Carnival
The 124th traditional Nice Carnival will be featuring the theme of ‘The King of Bats, Cats, Rats and other legendary creatures’.
