 Paris Dog Show
/ January 9th - 11th at Parc Floral
The year starts on a great note for friends of the canine species! More than 3000 dogs and 300 breeds will be on stage at the Paris Dog Show. Visitors will be able to meet with breeders and other dog-owners. And of course, the usual contest will take place to select the most beautiful dogs for each of the various breeds.

 Masques, de Carpeaux à Picasso / Until February 10th at Musée d'Orsay
All the arts contributed to the revival of the mask, from painting to avant-garde theatre. Native soil. Far away starts here
/ Until March 15th at Fondation Cartier Raymond Depardon is famous for pictures immortilising amazing and unusual details of daily life. This exhibition traces his 14-day and 7-stop trip around the world: Paris, Washington, Los Angeles, Honolulu, Tokyo, Hô Chi Minh-Ville, Singapore and Capetown.

 Pollock and shamanism / Until February 15th at Pinacothèque de Paris The Pinacothèque de Paris exhibits an exceptional gathering of works Amerindian shamanism-inspired and abstract impressionist painter Jackson Pollock. With drawings and paintings drawn from Pollock's abstract and semi-abstract work, the exhibition shows how he felt about subconcious as an illustration of Indian rituals and shamanism.

 Handball Paris-Ile-de-France tournament
/ January 10th and 11th at Palais Omnisport de Bercy
The event for French handball no-one can miss will this year have a special 22nd edition: in addition to the celebrating to French olympic champion team, a special tribute will be paid to 3 players who retire from the national team, Olivier Girault, Joël Abati and Cédric Burdet.

 Andros Trophy (Trophée Andros) Final Series / January 31st Clermont - Superbesse After almost 6 months of competition and 6 races, it is finally the time for the last series of the Andros Trophy, the famous ice racing championship.  The Red Nights (Les Nuits Rouges)

Until March 26th Val d'Isère Every thursday evening of the winter season, it is a special moment in Val d'Isère. As the Red Night starts, the village enlightens with a thousand colours, and in the streets disc-jockeys, ice sculptors concerts...all sorts of attractions take place. Only pedestrians are allowed and they certainly don't regret it.

 Alpe d’Huez Comedy Film Festival / January 20th - 25th The Alpe d’Huez Film Festival, the first film festival in the year in France, is the only Comedy festival in the country. You will be able to see a great number of national previews, both for long and short films, all of them for free. A lot of special events will also entretain both film professionals and the public at large.
