1. Small backpack<\/h2>\n

Don\u2019t take a big bag for your trip to Paris! Remember that at the entry of every monument or tourist place, you will have to open it, and sometimes even empty it.<\/p>\n

Instead of that, choose a small backpack that\u2019s comfortable and easy to carry, and where you can put everything you need for your journey in Paris: a bottle of water, your documents, your camera and an umbrella.<\/p>\n

By doing so you won\u2019t have a bulky bag to worry about all the journey, and you will save some time during the security checks.<\/p>\n

Advice<\/strong>: Be careful with your backpack, especially on public transport, and beware of pickpockets.<\/p>\n

Remember<\/strong>: prevention is better than cure!<\/p>\n

Don\u2019t board the plane without one of these!<\/p>\n

With a power bank, you can charge your phone (or another device) without a plug.<\/p>\n

There are different sizes, shapes and powers; choose one according to your needs, but pay attention to the size.<\/p>\n

Make sure it\u2019s not too big because then it won\u2019t fit in your pocket. And don\u2019t forget the USB cable that comes with the power bank!<\/p>\n

With this device, you can use your cellphone without worry, because you know that if you are running out of battery, you can always count on this device to save the day!<\/p>\n

3. Universal adaptor<\/h2>\n

If you don\u2019t live in Europe, and even if you live there (it might be useful sometimes), think about buying a universal adaptor before leaving your country.<\/p>\n

There are different models; some of them are simpler than others, so choose one according to your needs.<\/p>\n

You can find some adaptors designed only for European plugs and some others that you can use almost everywhere.<\/p>\n

The former is simpler and cheaper (about \u20ac3), while the latter performs better and is more expensive (about \u20ac10), so make your choice.<\/p>\n

4. Umbrella<\/h2>\n

Paris is wonderful, but its weather… well, it\u2019s another story!<\/p>\n

So even if you visit the city in summer<\/a>, there might be some rain.<\/p>\n

That\u2019s why if you want to look nice in your pictures, and if you definitely don\u2019t want to drench your beautiful clothes and walk all day soaked to the skin, think about packing an umbrella.<\/p>\n

Please don\u2019t bring a big one, but a small one that you can easily pack in your backpack.<\/p>\n

If you don\u2019t have an umbrella at home, you can find one in Paris, but don\u2019t forget that the city is not only one of the most beautiful in Europe but also one of the most expensive, so it is not a good idea to spend \u20ac10 on an umbrella – buy a good crepe or a nice souvenir instead!<\/p>\n

5. Raincoat<\/h2>\n

Comfortable, practical and cheap, you will be even more covered than with an umbrella, and the best part of it is that it is easy to carry.<\/p>\n

So don\u2019t worry and enjoy your journey, even in the rain!<\/p>\n

And in the evening when it is cold, you can wear your raincoat to protect you from the chill of a gust of wind.<\/p>\n

6. Sweater or jacket<\/h2>\n

In Paris, you always need to pay attention to the weather!<\/p>\n

So even if it is summer and the weather forecast says that it is going to be 35 degrees in the afternoon, don\u2019t forget those evenings might be colder, so if you want to enjoy the evenings in the city, don\u2019t forget your sweater or jacket.<\/p>\n

Choose one according to the season, something light for summer, something thicker for fall and spring, and if you\u2019re visiting the city in winter, then you don\u2019t need a sweater, but a big coat and everything that comes with it: scarf, gloves, hat, etc.<\/p>\n

7. Debit\/Credit card<\/h2>\n

It is always a good idea to have some cash with you, but not too much!<\/p>\n

That\u2019s why it is useful to take your credit card with you.<\/p>\n

In France, like in most European countries, you can pay by card almost everywhere.<\/p>\n

A credit card can be very useful to pay for your accommodation or rent a car, but especially to book tickets online.<\/p>\n

It doesn\u2019t matter if it is a flight, a museum ticket or something else, you can always count on your credit card.<\/p>\n

With it, you don\u2019t need too much cash, so it is less problematic if you lose your wallet (or if it is stolen).<\/p>\n

If you are a foreign student and you have a student card that certifies it, don\u2019t leave it at home.<\/p>\n

You can get some discounts on your entry tickets with your student card.<\/p>\n
