witnessed that momentous event.<\/p>\n<p>Finally, on the beach of Berni\u00e8res-sur-Mer, you\u2019ll find<b> period pictures<\/b> portraying the famous landing of the Canadian troops on Juno Arromanches-les-Bains.<\/p>\n<p>Visitors enjoy a front-row view of an essential component of the operation Overlord.<\/p>\n<p>In the hills near Gold Beach, you can also visit the Longues-sur-Mer Battery, <b>an old German strongpoint bearing heavy guns <\/b>and tasked to protect the coast from Allied attacks.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h3>Omaha Beach<\/h3>\n<figure style=\"width: 610px\"
