It is popular with Parisians because it is easily <strong>accessible<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The Grand Morin River is a tributary of the Marne and is 120 kilometers long. Therefore it offers great opportunities for stand-up paddling.<\/p>\n<p>The scenery is <strong>bucolic<\/strong>, the landscapes change as you go along. This entire ecosystem was chosen in 2020 by the Val-d&#8217;Oise department to be classified as a &#8220;<strong>biodiversity sanctuary<\/strong>&#8220;.<\/p>\n<p>It is recommended that you launch your paddle board near the Bac du Passeur, quai du G\u00e9nie, in Herblay. You\u2019ll love it if you have an<strong> inflatable paddleboard<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>You can depart at <strong>36 quai Alfonse Le Gallo in Boulogne<\/strong>. It&#8217;s a 5-minute walk from the Boulogne-Pont de Saint-Cloud metro station (line 10) or from the Pont de S\u00e8vres station (line 9) (if you have a car, you can park on the quay, just opposite the Voiles de Seine sailing club).<\/p>\n<p>Once your paddle board is ready, you just have to go to the water&#8217;s edge by going to the right of the sailing club. You can launch your paddle board just below the <strong>diving school<\/strong> (at the level of the boat lifting crane).<\/p>\n<p>The trip consists of going up the Seine River to the entrance of Paris, before turning around and going back to the launching point. If you politely ask the Neuilly-sur-Seine <strong>P\u00e9tanque Club<\/strong>, they will allow you to launch your board at the bottom of La D\u00e9fense. You will enjoy a moment of incredible calm, just a stone&#8217;s throw from Paris, to observe a rich fauna, flourishing in the preserved forests and banks of the place.<\/p>\n<p>Depending on your plans, it is possible to paddle for varying lengths of time. The right bank (Saint-Maur side) has<strong> many pontoons<\/strong> for easy launching.<\/p>\n<p>We recommend you to park at the very beginning of the Promenade des Anglais (n\u00b076 to 86 approximately). You can then start your expedition at the Marne River archipelago by the two small islets just opposite, the Moulin-Bateau island.<\/p>\n<p>By public transport, the easiest way is to take the RER A and get off at the Champigny station. A footpath then leads to a small pebble beach which is perfect for <strong>launching your paddle board<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>In short, this spot will offer a magnificent setting for a paddling session, at the bottom of immense chalky cliffs.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Our advice for a perfect trip<\/strong>: start paddling on the Seine River, then take the car to make a small detour on the summits (you will see a breathtaking panoramic view).<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h2>Mureaux Islands (on the Seine River)<\/h2>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-17741\" src=\"https:\/\/www.france-hotel-guide.com\/en\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/paddle-random8.jpg\" alt=\"Paddle random 8\" width=\"620\" height=\"932\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.france-hotel-guide.com\/en\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/paddle-random8.jpg 620w, https:\/\/www.france-hotel-guide.com\/en\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/paddle-random8-316x475.jpg 316w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 620px) 100vw, 620px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>To discover the Seine River islands, let\u2019s go to Mureaux.<\/p>\n<p>If you live in the western part of the Ile-de-France region, this spot should be an ideal place to paddle peacefully and undisturbed.<\/p>\n<p>You will enjoy passing under 2 small stone <strong>bridges<\/strong>:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>The Rhine and Danube bridge<\/li>\n<li>The Saint-C\u00f4me bridge<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Belle Island alone, which is close to cars in most places, is 5 km long (which makes it perfect for a nice walk).<\/p>\n<p>Moreover, if you wish to swim, you can stop at the<strong> \u00cele de Loisirs<\/strong>, which offers a wonderful little sandy <strong>beach<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>It is recommended that you start from the Promenade du Bac in Hardricourt, to go around the Hardricourt islands.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h2>On the \u201clittle Venice\u201d of the Marne River (in Cr\u00e9teil)<\/h2>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-17740\" src=\"https:\/\/www.france-hotel-guide.com\/en\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/paddle-random9.jpg\" alt=\"Paddle random 9\" width=\"620\" height=\"930\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.france-hotel-guide.com\/en\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/paddle-random9.jpg 620w, https:\/\/www.france-hotel-guide.com\/en\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/paddle-random9-317x475.jpg 317w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 620px) 100vw, 620px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Near the <em>Cercle de voile de la Basse Marne<\/em> and the canoeing base, you will find a small car park. At the entrance to the <em>Bras du Chapitre<\/em> path, a concrete pier makes it easy to launch your paddle board.<\/p>\n<p>You will then start your walk by the <strong>Sainte-Catherine island<\/strong> (if you don&#8217;t have a car, take the metro<strong> line 8<\/strong> and get off at Cr\u00e9teil-Universit\u00e9 or Cr\u00e9teil-Pr\u00e9fecture).<\/p>\n<p>Start your walk from the pier opposite the <strong>Cercle de la voile<\/strong>. At the first &#8220;crossroad&#8221;, turn <strong>right <\/strong>first, then immediately <strong>left <\/strong>before the small bridge. This narrow arm, with its thick <strong>vegetation<\/strong>, will lead you between the <strong>Ile de la Guy\u00e8re<\/strong> (on your left) and the <strong>Brise-Pain island<\/strong> (on your right).<\/p>\n<p>Then you just have to follow the current for the rest of the trip (an 8km loop).<\/p>\n<p>\u26a0\ufe0f This is a preserved and protected natural area, please respect the environment and the wildlife<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Who said you had to live near the sea to go stand-up paddling?
