You\u2019re passionate about art and exhibitions but you\u2019re still hesitating whether or not you should visit the Grand Palais? Here’s our advice to help you make a decision.<\/em><\/p>\n

Our opinion on the Grand Palais\u2019 tour<\/h2>\n

We like it for:<\/h3>\n
    \n
  • Its architecture and its massive glass-dome<\/li>\n
  • Its temporary and unique exhibitions<\/li>\n
  • Its various events throughout the year and a termporary[1]\u00a0 ice rink during the Christmas period<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

    We like it less for:<\/h3>\n
      \n
    • Its rather long waiting lines<\/li>\n
    • Its ticket prices which are relatively high<\/li>\n
    • Its difficult accessibility \u2013 3 entrances<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

      You should visit the Grand Palais at least once and the experience its fascinating setting and beautiful exhibitions.<\/p>\n

      However, since the ticket price for the tour is quite high, we advise you to go for a specific event (for the ice rink or for a particular exhibition you don\u2019t want to miss, for instance) and to buy your tickets well in advance in order to avoid waiting in line for too long.<\/p>\n

      What is it?<\/h2>\n

      The Grand Palais was built on the Avenue des Champs-Elys\u00e9es in 1900 for the World’s Fair before becoming a historical monument in 2000.<\/p>\n

      Famous for its glass-dome architecture, the original monument has undergone its first-time restoration project:<\/p>\n

        \n
      • Some renovated exhibitions galleries were mad much bigger and brighter<\/li>\n
      • The Neg now gives access to some balconies and will provide a new point of view from which to applaud events such as the Fashion Week<\/li>\n
      • The children’s gallery is now an area dedicated to students<\/li>\n
      • The mediation areas were relocated in order to become brighter<\/li>\n
      • The auditoriums are now able to welcome more people thanks to a bigger capacity<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

        The outdoors have also been reconditioned to fit in better with both the Grand Palais\u2019 architecture and its urban surroundings.<\/p>\n
