About this place

Honfleur is famous for its picturesque old port surrounded by houses with their fronts covered in slate. Honfleur used to be the meeting place of artists - artists like Gustave Courbet and Claude Monet started the Impressionist movement by creating the Honfleur school. The steeple of the church of Saint Catherine of Honfleur is separated from the main building, which is the largest wooden church in France. From the chapel of Our Lady of Grace, you can admire the superb panorama of the Cote de Grace and the estuary of the Seine.
