| HOW TO BOOK YOUR HOTEL ROOM? |
Booking Request mode.
•Description: The Booking Request mode means you first send a booking request directly to the hotel using our booking request form. Then the hotel will answer you by e-mail about availability. Then, if there is indeed availability at your dates, you confirm your booking by providing your credit card details to the hotel using our secured booking confirmation form. A unique reference number is attached to each single booking request made through the Booking Request mode. Please make sure to always quote this reference number and "France Hotel Guide" for all queries to the hotel.
• Access: You access the Booking Request mode by clicking on the "Booking Request" button and then, if offered a choice, click again on "Booking Request". Then, just follow the steps.
•Cancellation of an existing booking: To cancel a existing booking made through the Booking Request mode, you need to inform directly the hotel of your cancellation. Make sure to mention your reference number and your dates. You may contact the hotel either by e-mail, or fax or telephone. The cancellation policy is generally 48 hours prior to arrival date. But please note that the cancellation policy may vary with the time period or the hotel itself. As long as your cancellation is received by the hotel before the limit set by its cancellation policy, you will have nothing to pay. Otherwise, a one-night fee will generally be charged on your credit card.
•Data protection: GeoTrust® SSL (Secured Socket layer) 128 encryption software.
Real-Time Booking mode.
•Description: Many hotels offer you the option to make a real-time booking with instant confirmation. The Real-Time Booking mode means you buy your accomodation online directly from the hotel. Rooms offered under Real-Time Booking mode and their prices are posted online by hotel owners themselves under their sole responsibility. A unique reference number is attached to each single booking made through the Real-Time Booking mode. The Real-Time Booking mode is powered by either Availpro Technology or Active Hotels Technology and is run on their servers. Using the Real-Time Booking mode is a free service.
• Under the Real-Time Booking mode, many hotels require online payment for part of the total booking amount. The balance due will be payable at the hotel after arrival. Several hotels require online payment for all of the total booking amount. Finally, some hotels require no online payment but only your credit card information. In all cases, before making your payment and/or providing your credit card information, it is advised to read carefully the terms and conditions applying for each hotel by clicking either on the link "View terms and conditions for this rate" (for Availpro Technology) or on the link "Hotel Policies" (for Active Hotels Technology).
•Access: You access the Real-Time Booking mode by clicking on the "Real-Time Booking (Instant Confirmation)" button on the hotel web-page and then, if offered a choice, click again on "Real-Time Booking (Instant Confirmation)". Then just follow the steps.
•Cancellation of an existing booking: You can cancel an existing booking made through the Real-Time Booking mode (and get your money back if you had made an online payment). To cancel an existing booking, go back to the hotel web-page, then click on the "Real-Time Booking (Instant Confirmation)" button and then, if offered a choice, click again on "Real-Time Booking (Instant Confirmation)". For bookings made through Availpro Technologies, then click on "Cancel an existing booking" and follow the instructions. For bookings made through Active Hotels Technology, then click on "How to Book and Cancel" and follow the instructions. Please note that if you had made an online payment in the first place, a small fee will generally apply.
• Data protection: Availpro Technology uses SSL (Secured Socket Layer) encryption by Thawte®. Payment software is powered by Crédit Industriel et Commercial (a large French bank with 3 million clients, 24,000 employees and $150 billion in assets). Transactions take place on Availpro servers which are checked 24 x 7 by ip-label.net.
Active Hotels Technology uses the latest SSL available, which encrypts all of your personal details, plus a special Active Hotels ganrantee. More information can be obtained by clicking on "Security Information" when making your booking.
E-Mail Booking Request mode.
•Description: The E-Mail Booking Request mode means you first a booking request directly to the hotel using our E-Mail Booking Request form. Then the hotel will answer you by e-mail about availability. Then, if there is indeed availability at your dates, you confirm your booking. Make sure to provide your credit card details to the hotel by whatever mean you deem appropriate. A unique reference number is attached to each single booking request made through the E-Mail Booking Request mode. Please make sure to always quote this reference number and "France Hotel Guide" for all queries to the hotel.
• Access: You acess the E-Mail Booking Request mode by clicking on the Booking Request button.
•Cancellation of an existing booking: To cancel an existing booking made through the E-Mail Booking Request mode, you need to inform directly the hotel of your cancellation. Information about city tax.
• City tax, also sometimes called tourist tax ("taxe de séjour" in French) is compulsory: it applies to everybody (except for children younger than 13) and is collected by the owner of the accomodation. The amount of city tax varies according to the hotel classification and the town. City tax in France can currently be between €0.20 (minimum) and €1.50 (maximum) per person per day.
• Room prices shown on France Hotel Guide generally include city tax. When city tax is not included in the price, the amount to be applied is detailed. |
