Les Remparts sont un des points d'intérêt du village médiéval de Gensac, et se situe à côté de l'église de Notre Dame datant du XIème siècle. Gensac est au coeur de la région viticole de Bordeaux et à 20km de St Emilion. Le village est perché sur la colline surplombant la valléE. Gensac est un petit village avec une communauté locale accueillante. Les rues pavées et les vieux remparts du château forment un cadre romantique. Il y a de nombreuses activités en été, fêtes et brocantes. Il y a aussi des marchés locaux à Libourne, Castillon la Bataille et à Ste Foy la Grande. Célèbre localement pour sa cuisine, Les Remparts proposent des menus qui satisferont tout le monde, incluant des spécialités régionales. Les tarifs vont de eur 24 à eur 35 le soir, la journée un déjeuner léger sera servi dans le restaurant ou sur la terrasse surplombant la valléE. En hiver, le restaurant a une cheminée qui lui donne une atmosphère. Dans le jardin une terrasse pourvoit le cadre idéal pour prendre son petit déjeuner en été. Veuillez noter que le restaurant est fermé le dimanche et le lundi soir mais des arrangements peuvent être négociés directement avec l'hôtel. Gensac est situé entre Sainte Foy La Grande et St Emilion, en faisant un point de départ idéal pour les amateurs de vin désirant explorer la région. Il y a aussi des villes fascinantes à explorer comme Sarlat, Domme et les grottes de Proumeyssac. Pour les courageux, le cyclisme est un moyen idéal pour visiter les vignes et la magnifique campagne. L'hôtel peut vous conseiller sur les nombreux voyages organisés profitant de cette situation géographique idéale ainsi que sur les visites guidées des châteaux producteurs de vin. Nous sommes seulement à 1 heure en voiture de Bordeaux, 5ème ville de France par sa taille, avec ses quais et promenades aménagés et son histoire remontant au xiv ème siècle. La côte et ses plages sont à environ 1 heure et demie et il existe de nombreux lacs à proximité convenant à la baignade et aux sports nautiques, sans oublier les nombreuses opportunités de faire du canoë et des croisières sur la Dordogne.

Les Remparts has recently been awarded the Logis de France three Chèminées accreditation for 2006, and is one of the focal points of the medieval village of Gensac, sitting next to the 11th Century Church of Our Lady. Gensac is set within the heart of the Entre Deux Mers wine growing region of Bordeaux and is about 15 miles from St Emilion. The village itself is perched on the edge of the hillside overlooking a peaceful valley. The cobbled streets and old castle walls provide a romantic setting. Gensac is a small village with a thriving local community who offer a warm welcome to all visitors. There are many activities through out the summer months, including fetes and Brocantes. Local markets can also be found in Libourne, Castillon la Bataille and of course the well known market of Ste Foy la Grande. Gensac is well situated between Sainte Foy La Grande and St Emilion, making it ideal for wine lovers to explore the area. Whilst in the area, take the opportunity to visit some of the local chateaux and sample some wine. There are also some intriguing towns to explore such as Sarlat, Domme and the Caves of Proumeyssac. For the more energetic, cycling is an ideal way to see the vineyards and the wonderful countryside. Many organised trips take advantage of this magnificent location. Not forgetting of course the numerous opportunities for canoeing and boat trips along the breathtaking Dordogne river. Just an hour's drive to Bordeaux and you can take the opportunity to visit the fifth largest city in France, with its landscaped quays and pedestrian promenades with history dating back to the 14th Century. The coast and beaches lay about an hour and a half away and there are also many lakes for bathing and water sports within easy reach. Cycling is an ideal way to see the area, and the hotel can arrange for guided tours stopping at strategic points to partake of the region's fair for tastings and purchases. Private tours can also be arrange with local wine producing Chateaux allowing guests to get the most out of this wonderful area.
