Selection of events taking place in Paris in April. |
 The famous Foire du Trône country fair opens on March 31st at the Pelouse de Reuilly. One of the oldest fairs in France, it attracts a staggering 5 million visitors each year. A huge amusement park with more than 350 attractions like arcades and rollercoasters as well as more traditional attractions such as a large Ferris Wheel, acrobats, jugglers and fire-eaters. Love apples and other classic French candies should not be missed either.

 Alexandre Calder, Parisian years
An exhibition dedicated to the American sculptor Alexander Calder takes place at the Centre Pompidou from April 15th. It exhibits works done by the artist during his time in Paris between 1926 and 1933. You will discover the famous Calder circus, a whimsical miniature circus of wire figures and creatures, as well as his first wire sculptures.

 Baccarat and the 1920's, a blow of modernity
Among exhibitions dedicated to the 1920's, don't miss that of the Baccarat museum: One hundred and fifty objects, sculptures, vases, bottles typical of Art-Deco. The Baccarat factory was certainly major contributor to this art movement. Takes place at the Maison Baccarat until April 26th.

 Camille Claudel Retrospective The Rodin Museum features an exceptional retrospective to Camille Claudel. It gathers most the artist's works with more than 80 sculptures in marble, terra cotta, plaster, onyx and bronze, as well as a dozen engravings and drawings from various plublic and private collections. This retrospective allows to better understand the work of Camille Claudel who is often better known for his private life than his sheer creations.

 Earth Day 2008
Since 1970, Earth Day takes place every year on April 22nd. With climate change and other threats to our environment, it has become urgent to adopt a new approach to economic development.
